My son is 18 months old and keeps getting ear infections. What can i do to prevent his ear infections?

  • take him to the dr and ask if it may be allergy related. If he gets so many within a certain amount of time they may suggest ear tubes...My son is about to get them b/c his allergies are terrible. But he is also on allergy meds to control that ,which has in turn helped the ear infections not be so frequent.

  • Take him to the doctor to rule out allergies or teething. Having too many ear infections can cause hearing damage so don't rule out tubes if it is suggested. Also, keep him away from cigarette or cigar smoke, second hand smoke can cause ear infections and upper respitory infections.

  • If he gets recurring infections, his pediatrician should be referring you to an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist in your area to see if tubes are a possiblilty. They were the answer to our prayers!

  • ole sckool redemy sweet oil with cotton balls but if it serioulsy continously he may need tubes as you doctor cause now day you never know
