  • I'd rinse them off because the bubbles can leave a residue on their skin, even if it looks like the bubbles are gone. The residue can irritate their skin and give them a rash. Just a quick clean water rinse should do the trick. Especially for little girls. The soap can give them a UTI.

  • I would rinse them especially if your child is a girl. Bubble baths can cause frequent urinary tract infections especially in girls due to a short urethra. Don't overdo bubble baths and rinse away the extra suds as a preventative measure.

  • I always rinse my daughter off. She looks forward to her "shower" after a bubble bath!

  • My tub has hose thing that has a shower head on it, so after my granddaughter's bath she stands up and gets a shower with the hose thingie. I like it better than a fixed shower because she doesn't worry about getting spray in her face.

  • well, with my oldest it was never an issue- she "killed" all the bubbles by playing with them- I have been around and around with gramma though because she used to give bubble baths and my youngest kept complaining that she hurt down there... at my house they takes showers now- but if they did take a bath I wouldn't put in bubbles - I let them play all they want then wash them when they have been in there a while, then I take them straight out after they've been rinsed.

  • yep. rinse them off. I usually start letting the water drain after a while and once they're all gone, I rinse her off. Make sure the bathroom is really warm though..because letting the water drain slowly can make your little one very cold! We have a heat lamp in our bathroom though, so it works out.

  • I would rinse them off too, HOWEVER - I have always read that bubble baths are bad for urinary tracts....

  • I can't give my daughter bubble baths. She doesn't get UTI's but she does get irritation that often requires a trip to the dr if she uses any type of soaps in her bath water. The dr has always told me not to give her bubble baths or even use soap on her in a bath. All the pediatricians she has been to have said that warm water is enough to clean with.

  • You have to rinse them off, and the UTI thing is true.

  • Additional question -- Since dd is not quite 2 yet, we use the J&J baby wash. I'll make a bubble bath with that sometimes. Does that have the same affect on the little ones as the big kid bubble baths?
