She keeps rubbing her eye...?

My 3 month old girl keeps on rubbing her right eye. Does this typically mean anything? Or did she just discover another body part?

  • at this particular age, I would say no. Either just discovered it or is sleepy :) Doesn't mean there's not a chance baby is trying to tell you something though. Is the eye red? irretated, swolled? Any discharge?

  • Try rubbing a very soft cloth, dampened with cool water, over it very gently- inside to outside. If she'll let you, rest the damp cloth on her eye for a minute, maybe. If it is allergy the coolness will sooth.
