Does brown discharge means that u will having a miscarry? (there is no cramps, just light brown discharge. Im currently 6 week)

  • Brown blood is old blood so it doesn't mean that you are having a miscarriage. Any DR will probably tell you the same and to call if it turns red since that is new blood.

  • The fact that the blood is brown indicates that it's old which means it's probably been attemping to come out of the uterus for a few days. It's probably implantation bleeding. Pink is also an indicator of implantation bleeding. I wouldn't worry. if you have bright red bleeding see your doctor.

  • NOt always but I would suggest you check with your doctor if it continues for more than two days. I had brown spotting for a few days at about 7 weeks. It later turned red after 4 days of brown spotting and unfortunately miscarried at 8 weeks. Your doctor can order blood work to make sure your progesterone levels, HCG levels are fine.
