  • It sounds to me like your son might be trying to hide something. I would go and discuss it with the teacher. Voice your concerns and see if there might be a different solution than the one you have tried.

  • I agree that it sounds like he is trying to hide something. That or he is afraid of what will happen if you meet with the teacher(her taking it out on him if she gets mad at you). Either way, I'd meet with her. If he's not hiding something, and the teacher is truly the problem, then go over her head. If he is hiding something, then you'll know what it is and be able to work on getting it resolved.

  • Go talk to the teacher. Don't back down until you get answers. He may have done something that you will not like and doesn't want the teacher to tell you.

  • i would never miss a teacher conference. i think they are important. at the very least you learn more about the teacher or you learn that you may need to talk to someone higher up.

it definately sounds like you should go if he specifically says he doesn't want you to go.

  • I'm all for visiting the teacher and if there is a problem not being solved go to the principal then to the school board. Your son might be right, you may not be effective with the teacher. Kids can be pretty smart about these things.
