My 18 month old fell off the bed. She cried for a while but now stopped. She'll stop when gets distracted but would cry again I think when she remebers it. Do you think she's fine?

I'm beating myself to this. I put her on top of bed to put her socks on and she just flipped over and fell. It happened so fast.

  • I'm sure she's fine. She probably just got scared. If you don't see a bump on her head or anything she's probably okay.

  • Children fall off beds all the time with no damage. If she didn't bump against something on her way down, or land on her head, there should be no problem. Feel along her legs and arms to make sure there's no sharp pain- which could indicate a break (most likely there won't be any.) Look at her pupils to make sure they are the same size. If she seems to want to fall asleep wake her up a few times. (but unless she hit her head, concussion isn't likely.) She may be crying because she sees you looking concerned, read to her to play and see what happens.

  • She is probably fine, she may be feeling your anxiety. Try to calm down and read with her, play with her, go for a walk.
