  • You can take a test as soon as you miss your period. Some tests let you take up to 5 days early. You will get better results if you wait till you are late.

  • Do you chart? If you do and you know for sure that your late then take a test. Otherwise wait a week because you could have just ovulated late this month.

  • My MIL is an RN and says wait at least a week--even blood tests aren't accurate until you're a week late. But the "waiting" part of that isn't easy.
