  • 20 weeks is the best time. Anything before can be a little hard to tell on the ultrasound.

  • I found out at 12 weeks with each of my boys. It was "confirmed" at 20...confirmed as much as an ultrasound can confirm it.

I knew for sure with my youngest because I had an amnio.

  • The earliest they can tell you via ultra sound is 16 weeks but they are not very accurate until 20 weeks.

Some people say they found out what they were having at 12, 14 or 15 weeks but if you'll notice 99% of the time they were told they were having a boy. That's because all fetuses look like boys in the beginning and around 8 weeks sex differentiation begans and the sexual organ slowly takes the form of a penis or vagina.

Anyone that was told they were having a boy before 16 was simply a kawinkidink.

  • They do it anywhere between 18-20 weeks. I decided to do mine at 19 weeks after we get back from the hospital out of town for my daughters procedures. That way we can all get cheered up!
