A new checking account...

I can open a new checking account by chase and get a $100 gift card just for opening the account. I can do it online too, by phone or in person. I want to do this online but hesitant. I would get free checks, free atm's, free check card, etc... Would you do it?

No bashing please!!!!

  • If it wasn't a bank as well known and reputable as Chase, I would be hesitant, but it is really common and it is probably legit.

  • Yes. Most banks do the free checking, free check card, etc. So that's not a big deal. But right now, banks need all the customers they can get so the gift card is just trying to get more people. Chase Bank is not a bad bank at all. I would do it.

  • Just be careful about giving your social security number and other personal info over the internet. If you feel skeptical DON'T DO IT. Yes if its a well known company like Chase Bank than it should be ok. But there are so many scams out there nowadays you have to be extremely careful.

  • chase is evil. don't be sucked in, bc ESPECIALLY with profit hungry banks like chase, nothing is ever free and you will pay for that $100 gift card 10 times over.
forget all the flash and go to a credit union which is not in the business of sucking every nickel and dime it can out of you until you get so fed up you close your account anyway! lol
you would be surprised how many credit unions are now open to the general public, usually all it takes these days is just to live nearby.
