is it safe

my son is 8 months old and does not sleep in his own crib is it safe to let him cry it out or how do i get him to sleep in his crib

  • have you tried to sleep in the room with him while he is in the crib? Thats what i had to do with my DS

  • It's safe. But research a method. CIO doesn't mean scream until you pass out. We have let our son cry after we know all of his needs are met and have never let him cry more than 20 mins. If his cry changes then we go in. You know your childs cry... there is a fussy cry and a overtired cry and there is the really MAD cry. We go in for the mad one.
    My son is also 8 months and still gets up 1-2 times to breastfeed... but letting him CIO stopped him from waking 6-8 times/night

  • The safety is a matter of opinion. Harvard's done some research that will turn your hair gray.

    And it doesn't always work. Didn't here.

    Check out "The No Cry SleepSolution" by Elizabeth Pantley. But also know that it's NORMAL for them not to want to sleep alone for the first year. He's programmed to sleep next to you for that period...it's a survival mechanism.
