What happens if.....

Another question had me thinking and I realized apparently this lesson in my high school government class has slipped my mind.

What happens if Obama (or any president) were impeached? I know Biden would become president, but would he appoint a new vice president? Or would someone automatically step into that position?

Thanks!

  • The Twenty-fifth Amendment states that the new President appoints a Vice President to fill but that the appointment is subject to approval by both Houses of Congress - just like any Presidential appointment.

  • If I remember correctly, Biden would nominate a new VP. So Princess Pelosi would keep her position as the puppet master.

  • Just so ya know - nothing happens if he's impeached - Clinton was impeached. All that means is congress has to review his work. If he is impeached and then they decide to remove him from office, most likely Biden would resign along with him, just like Agnew left when Nixon resigned. Meanwhile, the two people with the most motivation to impeach Obama are Pelosi and Clinton - THAT is what should keep you up at night.

  • IF Obama were impeached and IF he were then removed from office or resigned, most likely Biden would also resign, then we would have Nancy Pelosi as president. (YIKES!!!) She is currently speaker of the house and 3rd in line for the presidency. When VP Agnew resigned as VP, Gerald Ford, as speaker of the house became VP, then Nixon resigned and Ford became the first POTUS who had not been elected as either President or Vice-President. The same scenario would apply here. DOES ANYBODY HERE REALLY WANT A PRESIDENT PELOSI ??? Let's just leave bad enough alone !!!
