  • I don't believe it is okay to assault ANYONE unless your life is in direct danger.

  • You did ask similar question earlier today .It's never right thing to assault anybody.

  • There has to be more to that. Was the person being belligerent? Was the person doing something to antagonize the officer? Something usually spurs an officer to react. But in answering your question, if a person is sitting on their own lawn minding their own business and an officer approaches and assaults him/her for sport then no, that's not right. However, if the person is sprawled out on the lawn in a drunken stupor i do believe the officer has a duty to try to get the person to go inside and not be a sight for sore eyes menace to the neighborhood. I don't know what the laws are for your area regarding being drunk. You could easily look them up and see if the officer was out of line.

  • If you are on you lawn drunk minding your own buisness they will leave you alone,

If you are beating other people up, they usually dont like that.

    Give it a break.

  • 1. I am guessing there is more to the story.
    2. But. if they are on "there" lawn - probably not.

  • Oh yes, there is a LOT more to the story. she posted earlier.

  • If you are being civil on YOUR lawn, they won't get on you for being drunk. If you are playing loud music, revving your vehicle engines, yelling and screaming or fighting or whatever, oh YES they will arrest you for public drunkeness even on your own front lawn.

  • That is one good thing about living in the country. People can have a party, get drunk, have a good time and no one cares. If the police are called, it takes so long for them to get out there and the party is usually over by then......
