Its a little far off, but Im worried about my DD first birthday. I know its not super important because they wont remember it. There will be nobody here to celebrate with us besides me and DD (no friends).. is it still important to celebrate it(traditional cake, presents, etc)? What kind of things could she and I do to make it 'special'?

You spending the day with your baby is probably the most important thing that you can do and nothing else really matters! Decorate a cupcake or cake that says happy 1st birthday and make a sign with balloons and take a picture with your child. Put it in the photo album and write down everything you remember about the child's 1st year. That kind of keepsake is a great gift. Use the money you would spend on a big party and buy a piggy bank and put the savings in the bank for college (cuz you will need it). If you really want to buy a gift here are some great ones http://astore.amazon.com/wwwcjkidzcom-20?%5Fencoding=UTF8&node=9 or you could order a book with your childs name in it (see link on cjkidz.com website http://www.cjkidz.com/favoritelinks.html
