If you are a stay-at-home spouse and you decide to divorce. Do you get HALF of everything?

  • Yes they split assets and can be forced to lets say sell that house and split the profits. If shes been with him over 5 yrs in most states and been home the whole time he willlikely have to pay alimoney and child support to her until she remarried.

  • It depends on what state you live in. Each state has their own laws regarding community property and division of assets.

  • Yes usually and for sure if you married or divorced in a community property state and there isnt a prenup. You could also get alimoney since you were a stay home mom.

  • Depends on what state you live in, you may even be a candidate for Allimony (sp?) ...where your x-spouse pays you money cause he was your main source of income..it's kinds like child support but support for the spouse.

  • you can go to find law.com..it;s a trusted source and they have legal information on every state including lawyers in the areas you are looking...
