  • Mom used to say, in a sing-song voice, "dont stick your elbow out too far, it may go home in a different car!" anytime we dared put our elbows on the edge of the car windows.

    We also heard stuff like "if so and so cut off his nose to spite his face, would you?" and...

    "marriage has a ring to it...an engagment ring, a wedding ring, and a suffering"(this was a sign on our stove but she'd say it every so often too LOL).
