How do I get my 2 yr old to go to sleep without laying on the floor next to her bed?

Whether it's naptime or bedtime, I have to lay on the floor next to my daughter's bed until she falls asleep. I've tried numerous times to sit in the hallway and keep putting her back in bed everytime she gets up, but she starts crying so hard she gets herself sick. HELP!!!

  • Gradually work your way out the door. Try sitting in a chair next to her bed for a few nights then move it half way to the door for a couple more nights,  then in the doorway, then on the outside of the door. This is called the Sleep Lady Shuffle.  Good luck!
