How to keep your white/beige carpet from looking dingy?

  • Don't wear shoes on it, don't use resolve/spotshot/woolite/any other cruddy cleaners from the store (use hot water or club soda), vacuum often and with a decent vacuum, have it cleaned by a reputable professional once a year. That'll do the trick and that's really all it takes.

  • try and have people take off their shoes when they come in, it helps a lot! Its hard to just clean one area of the carpet sometimes

  • my mom used to have a rug that started from where ever the wood floor ended and the carpet began. That helped andthen she'd just wash the rug. I tried that, but my kids don't let it sit long enough.

  • Shampoo it if possible, vacuum often and no shoes in the house!
