What does this mean?

I just posted a question. I found an error so I wanted to edit it and I got this message: "This question has been locked for editing. You will only be able to update your alerts."

  • That's happened to me too. The only thing I could think was because answers had already been posted it was locked.

  • I don't know what updating your alerts means. But I agree with timeless that once people start answering they can't have OPs editing their question.
