When did your doctor....

Check for dilation??

I am 36 weeks and 5 days.....and I am now/have been going everyweek since the end of February....just curious when your doctor checked you. I go back in 6 days.... so I will be 37 weeks and 4 days =].

  • depends onthe dr some dont til 38 weeks but im going to be 35 weeks tomorrow and monday is my appointment they are going to start checking me then .

  • He should start soon. Most OB's do it around 36 or 37 weeks. If you have a midwife though some dont check at all or only if you ask, other's will follow Dr's protocol and check sooner and more often.

  • 38 weeks, but only if you want to be. It is mostly midwives where I go so they believe in letting nature just take it's course so no real need to check.

  • My doctor was hot so I asked him to check me every visit......just kidding!!!!
    He should start checking your right about now, and you will really not have any changes until 37-38 weeks if that.
    Some people dont dilate until they are in full labor.

  • My doctor wont check you at all unless something is going on (i.e. contractions, painful pressure). With my first daughter, I wasn't checked at all until I went into the hospital. This time he started checking around 37 weeks because I was having a lot of sporadic contractions.
