Has anyone had a heart cath with a burn ablation?

I am having one and I am completely scared to death, this will be my first heart cath and I have no idea what to expect. do you they put you to sleep? does it hurt, etc.

  • Yes, they put you to sleep. They usually insert the cath into the femoral vein. I am not sure about adults but the kids they perform this on go home from the hospital after a day. The incision isn't very big.

  • Don't be afraid sweetie.
    Ask for a consult with your doctor so he can explain the procedure to you and what you should expect when you get to the hospital or clinic.
    If you aren't too scared, you can Google the procedure online and look at it for yourself.
    Everything will be fine.
