frozen then thawed pork chops turned gray color?????

Is that supposed to happen, or did the go bad some how
????

  • i'd say they went bad or you just happen to buy bad meat. if you have your reciept you should be able to take them back if they weren't bought to long ago. least thats what we did when that happened to us/

  • well i took mine out and ran them under hot water to thaw them the rest of the way and mine turned gray before too.....just smell them and if they dont smell bad and have not been sitting out warm than they are fine.

  • they should be fine. beef does this too (more brown than grey), it's because the blood is gone from it. I find them to be tougher when less pink, so you might want to tenderize them extra.
