What is wrong with my almost 7-month-old?

Today my almost 7-month-old daughter didn't sleep much. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? We went out to eat for lunch today and she fell asleep in the car on our way home. She had one other day (a regular stay-at-home day) where she wouldn't sleep much. She is usually good about being on a schedule and going down for her naps at set times. She hasn't been overly fussy... she's been acting like she normally does, except with a few days of not sleeping much during the day. She does excellent at night... sleeps about 11-12 hours straight. I'm clueless why she doesn't want to nap much lately.

  • Sounds normal. She sleeps a lot at night, so she may be ready to drop a nap.

  • Sounds normal to son use to take 3 naps a day regulary, around 8 months he started not wanting to sleep as much. Now he take a nap around noon for 45 min. and again in the late afternoon for about an hour.

  • nothings wrong... my girls do that sometimes quite often.... they just want to be up and play. i have no problem with it except when they get reall crabby then they are willing to go take a nap. a few times i would put them down they would drink their bottle and then be awake as if they slept for hours when it probably was only bout 20 mins. my girls would nap about 3-4 times or more when they were 3-6 months old. now they only go down for one or two naps some times none. i can't wait for the toddler stage lol.

  • I don't think there is anything wrong.. your daughter will let you know when she is tired.. some babies change nap habits frequently. Some nap more than others, some stop napping early, etc. Every baby is different. Her body is probably adjusting, and is getting more energy, so needs less naps. I wouldn't worry about it. Especially if she isn't showing signs of it bothering her.

  • Yeah, they do go through these phases. How many naps does she take? If it's 3, definitely try dropping one. If it's 2, maybe try adjusting the times. It may just pass on its own, though.
