My 9 month old doesn't crawl yet.

He can stand holding on to things... just doesn't seem interested in crawling at all. Should I be worried? We have a doctor's app. this week...

  • If it makes you feel any better my nine month old doesn't crawl either and I don't think he will. I think he's going to go straight to walking as he pulls himself up and hangs on to things too. He has no intrest in crawling and he hates being on his bell. Good Luck.

  • I wouldn't worry. He just may not be interested. My mom was amazed to see my DD crawl b/c my sis and I never did and my niece didn't either. We all went from pulling up to walking.

  • I wouldn't worry. Crawling isnt actually a big milestone, lots of kids dont crawl at all. My son didnt crawl until 10 1/2 months and started walking 2 weeks later.

  • Nope. My daughter was 9 and a half mos, and my son was 11 mos. If he's pulling up, he might even skip the crawling and go straight to walking.

  • not at all. Dr's dont consider crawling a milestone, some children just choose not to crawl

  • I would consider having your LO hang out with an older child. About a month before DDs first birthday she was hanging out a lot with her 4 yo cousin. Her cousin loved to pretend she was a dog or cat, so she spent a lot of time crawling around. 2 weeks before her first birthday DD crawled, 1 1/2 months after her first birthday she started taking her first steps, and she was walking very well by 14 1/2 months. She's starting to run now at 16 months. And as PPS mentioned, some children skip crawling all together. So, no, don't worry :~)
