What does your child have for lunch?

Just looking for some new options for lunch. My daughter loves PB&J but I get tired of making it everyday. She is really good with eating fruits and yogurt but was looking for other meals.

  • well my daughter has a slice of bologna, string cheese, a banana (yes the whole banaba) and 5 strawberries for lunch today. This is what she asked for.

  • As my daughter isn't a very big veggie eater, I usually keep vegetarian corn dogs and chicken nuggets on hand (morningstar farms makes these). She loves them and gets in some nutrients and fiber. She also loves ham and chese roll ups - cream cheese, deli ham, and a slice of cheese rolled up in a whole wheat tortilla. Kraft Easy Mac is great too - cheap and quick. I will give her this with some sliced apple or some grapes.

  • Today we had mac & cheese. Yesterday she had left over pizza. Most of the time she wants PB&J and will make her own if I let her (she will be 3 in a couple weeks). She also likes fish sticks and/or chicken nuggets (we bake them), grilled turkey and cheese, sloppy joes...whatever.
    Usually on the side she has yogurt or string cheese or fruit (if we have any left). Sometimes she just has fruit for lunch.

  • My kids love turkey they have that alot. They aren't crazy about PB&J...will sometimes do just peanut butter sandwiches though. Other than that it's fruit, carrot sticks, chips, cookies or crackers, pretzels, fish sticks, spaghetti-o's with meatballs...or if we are out chicken nuggets of course!

  • today we had carrot& lentil soup, cheese bagels w/ cream cheese & grapes afterwards.
    on nicer days we just chop up fruits & veggies, set up a dip and snack throughout the afternoon.
    we do chicken strips, hot dogs, yam fries are a big hit, banana bread.

  • Today we had chicken-veggie salad on whole wheat pittas with grapes.

    Tomorrow we'll have pretty pizza(pizza the kids make on whole wheat tortillas and use veggies for the face). We'll probably have an apple with it.

  • as a variation on the pb&j u could try this (my kids love them) take a tortilla and spread some all natural peanut butter on it- then slice up a banana and slice up strawberries- put a row of bananas then a row of strawberries then banana and so on and so forth so that it looks like a pizza topped with the fruit- u could either slice into triangles with a pizza cutter or u can roll it up and slice into pinwheels- this way theyre getting wut they like with the peanut butter but theyre getting the added fruit (and u could boost it even more by using whole grain tortillas!)

  • oh and my kids also love when i give them vienna sausages right out of the can with a fruit cup and some sun chips- not the best of meals but they love it!

  • Ours will eat....tuna fish w/pickles or cheese sandwich, soap, patti melts, hot dogs or sausages, bagel w/cream cheese, sometimes we will have a fruit/veggie/cheese plate, pizza, spagettios, raviolis (spinach & mozzarella), noodles w/pesto sauce.
