I need to know what operating system you are running. Vista or XP. What version of Windows media you have. 9, 10 or 11? Your computer should have come with another Dvd program Like HP power play. Cyberlink. etc. Try looking under programs to see if one is listed. If you only have WIndows media player. You may need to update. Here is a link to the Microsoft site, that addresses your exact problem.
If that doesn't solve it. Download the latest version of Windows media player. If you have the latest, Check for updates on Microsoft's web site.
Here's a link to a 30 day free trial of Cyberlink DVD player. It can get your movies playing while you search for a permanent solution. PM me if you need more help.
