  • She is discovering her body. Sounds like she just discovered her hands. Eventually she will discover other things, but for right now it is her hands. Its OK, its normal :)

  • Baby's like to suck...maybe it's a pacifier or their hand or thumb or helps pacify them. It doesn't mean that they are hungry all the time. Sucking helps soothe them. She's probably sucking on her hand because she has not found her thumb yet.

  • My DS did that. Discovery of something to suck on whenever you want it when you can't hardly move....hum, sounds like fun to me.

Some babies start teething sensations early and do this, too.

  • Because she found her hand! And hands are nummy! I agree with all of the above glad she doesn't want a paci

  • Totally normal. My 7 month old will be flirting or playing or whatever, and all of a sudden, he'll catch a glimpse of his hands, and get totally distracted, and will sit there and study them. It's hilarious! The feet will be next. My poor son put his big toe in his mouth and bit down while my hubby was changing him. I heard this excruciating wail from the bedroom, poor little guy!
