Does anyone use weight loss pills while breastfeeding? is it ok?

  • Its not something I would chance or recommend. Especially since we are supposed to be getting extra calories during breastfeeding.

  • most weight loss supplements contain potent stimulants. your baby could be "wired". also a great number cause upset stomach in adults and i can only imagine that the effect would be greater in a baby. i definitely would not do this. your baby may not be able to metabolize what is passed from the supplement thru breast milk. many have mega doses of herbs and even some vitamins and without knowing how much is excreted in mother's milk it could be toxic.
