  • I know of a few moms with twins. Most of them kept the hospital bracelets on as long as possible. Then, the most popular option has been nail polish on the toys. This way you don't have to worry about if a bracelet fall off or if someone babysitting puts the wrong bows in their hair (or they pull them out). Hats, bracelets, etc are good for when they are up and about but the probably wouldn't wear them to bed. Later on, different hairstyles worked great. The previous poster talking about them looking different is right but it can take months to years before there's distinct differences unless one has a birthmark the other doesn't. (But you usually won't see that with identicals).

  • If they're triplets then they're more than likely faternal so they'll look different. Dress them in different colors

  • if this is for you when you first get them home you will probably be able to tell them apart fairly quickly , but for the hospital staff my friend got a marker specifically made for writing on babys skin when her DD was born because she was afraid of baby mix ups.You could use that and write their names on their feet
For later in life and everyone else difernt colours, or one could have kitties and the other butterflies (barrettes, earrings ect) maybe a charm bracelet

  • well if they are identical then your going to have some trouble but chances are they wll look a little different if they aren't... you can put them in different brand of diapers or have the nurses make special bands for their arm ... the identification bands.. and have girl 1 and girl 2 on it and just keep them on long enough until you figure out which is which...

  • If they're fraternal, they will look different but even if they are identical there will be subtle differences.

My nieces are identical (as were my mom and aunt) It's actually easy to see that one has a more round face and the other has a more elongated face (in each set).

Look for a mole or "beauty mark" on them (one of my nieces has one, the other doesn't).

Little on the left, one on the right. tones, pinks, reds, yellows...pick one color for each of them and keep them in those colors.

  • In the hospital being different colored hats. That's what my friend heather did with her girls. One got a white hat with pink bows and the other had a white hat with purple flowers.

  • Have them wear Silicone Wristbands on thier ankles so they won't hurt them (like the lance armstrong ones). You can get them made with their names on them.
