Would you be happy if AIG went out of Business?

So many people are taking their cues from Obama and congress and are furious that these AIG workers got this money. Forget that this money was promised them as part of their salaries. Now ther are many reports saying these people are turning in their resignations. They are tired of the abuse their families are getting and the Acorn arranged buses coming up their streets filled with protesters and the media making them out to be horrible people.
Putting the treatment they are getting aside, these people are being recruited by foreign companies (working in the US). How easy would that be? "we didn't take government money so come on over here and work for us". If these bailed out companies loose workers during this time they will have to file bankruptcy or just shut down. This is why government bailed them out! So they didn't fail.
Once again the government is shooting themselves in the foot by promoting this hate.

  • yes i think everyone should be responsible for how they run their company and if it fails then it fails. same with any company not just the big ones. they are going to fail anyway regardless of the bail out.

  • Yes. No one needs that kind of bonus and when a company is not doing good and asking for a bailout, they damn well don't deserve a bonus. They kept that part hidden but it was also our leaders fault for in investigating further into this company. Companies fail all the time big and small.

  • So you would not care that the government spent all that money (our money)on them and then literally caused them to go out of business? Or would you then turn your anger to the government (were it should be in teh first place) for giving them a bailout saying they were to big to fail?

  • I have little anger for AIG. I have more frustration over our government. They failed to read the contracts. Obama either lied, Geithner Lied, and/or Obama signed our nation into it's biggest deficit in history over a Bill he DID NOT read. Pathetic.

  • The government gave them an opportunity to take the bail out money and use it to straighten up. Instead, they used it to line the pockets of the corrupt leaders that tanked AIG in the first place. They should be ashamed of themselves. And since they didn't take the higher road when it was offered to them, they should now be tried as criminals for fraud.

Shouldn't Geithner and possibly Obama be charged with Fraud. They either knew about the bonuses and lied, or Obama didn't know and signed the bill without reading it... EIther way he wasn't very responsible was he?

  • itsmesteph... People showing little accountability for the government... Looking the other way while the government increases its CORRPTNESS. It's sad. Meanwhile AIG is honoring it's contracts and trying to retain and gain business.
