ok my sister in law is due the same day as me we will be 24 wks tomorrow they have told her the whole time that her blood preasure was high and 3 wks ago she had protien in her urine .. well yesterday she went to an emergency appt because her feet were so swollen her toes didnt touch the ground! ... they put her on BEDREST they told her just to get up to Eat, Potty, and Shower! .. they think she is developing Preeclampsia .. is it normal to develope it this soon! .. most people i know who got it got it like almost at the end!! ... does this mean she will prolly have my nephew early?

  • Not necessarily. Pre-e can be completely controlled with diet and has a lot to do with diet. Watching what you eat, watching your sodium intake, taking proper vitamins (such as b-6 for swelling), and resting can easily make the pre-e go away or minimize the effects of it. :)

    If she can't get it under control, it could cause a problem, but with the right nutrition she could and could deliver a healthy baby full term, no issues.

  • Pre E symptoms can be easily managed with diet. You could really help her out by looking up some dinner ideas and such. If the diet works for her she should be able to come off bed rest and she should be fine to go into spontaneous labor at term. Pre E is hard to truly diagnose and it sounds like they are taking a preventative stance here. Echoing myself here, but definitely change the diet!
