  • WHAT???? You NEED all the weight you can get UNLESS your dr tells you otherwise! Think about your baby and not yourself!

  • Just watch what you eat. You only need to eat 300 extra calories a day. If you normally eat 1,800 a day, just eat little over 2,000 calories a day. Make sure you take your vitamins containing folic acid and eat a balanced diet. Make sure you get enough calicum and protein. It's also a good idea to walk 30 minutes a day or do other low-impact exercises such as swimming. If you are overweight, you need to gain 15 pounds. If you are at a normal weight, aim for 20-25 weight gain. If you are underweight, you need to gain even more than 25 pounds. You must gain weight, but you can control how much you gain. Remaining physically active throughout pregnancy helps with delievery and helps you to bounce back to your pre-pregnancy form.

  • Avoid biking, rollerblading, or anything that puts you at risk for falling and getting injuried. Use your common sense. You can lift weights, but do not exceed 15 pounds. You can also use stability ball and sit on it to strengthen your core. There are a lot of exercises you can do. Just google "pregnancy exercises". http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/exerciseguidelines.html and http://babyfit.sparkpeople.com/pregnancy-exercise.asp Hope that helps!

  • I don't think that you should be eating thongs-either whole grain or 100% cotton! Sorry, just a thought.

  • Walking is awesome. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, poultry and keep your grains whole grains. The average person should gain 25 pounds with pregnancy. Your doctor can give you a guideline of what you should gain and what you should be eating with your diabetes.
