  • I prefer female because I think they know how a woman's body works. My friend prefers a male Dr., because she thinks if there's an issue he'll take it seriously where a woman might just blow it off as nothing.

  • Female. I had a male gyn once who said something completely inappropriate during a PAP. Even the nurse thought he was nuts. I won't even go back to a male UNLESS it is my first ever gyn, as that was a male and he was wonderful (he also did my mom's hysterectomy).

  • I just want to be treated with respect. Male or female doesn't matter to me at all. If they have a horrible bedside manner or are disrespectful, I'm outta there!

  • Male or female, as long as they are respectful and know what they are doing.

  • Definately would prefer a female. No offense to male gyno's out there. I worked for about 7 of them. Although they are great doctor's they will never ever know what it is like to be in your shoes. So there's something different about being w/ a female doctor who's been there, done that!

  • The OBGYN office I go to has 6 male Drs. and 3 female P.A.'s. When I'm just going in for a yearly or whatever I always schedule with one of the P.A.'s. When you're preggie and going in regularly, they always schedule you one time with a P.A. and the next with one of the Drs.

I'd prefer it to be females all the time, but I like the system this office uses. You get to know all the Drs. That way whatever Dr. is on call when you deliver, you already know him.
