Does anyone have any authentic African food recipes?

My sons' school has an enrichment week & this year their unit of study is Africa. I'm room mom for one of their classes & I thought I'd try to find some food items for the class to have.

  • I was also going to suggest googling ~ try something like, "authentic african foods".

I vaguely remember doing a search for a missions week at church, and one thing that sticks out in my mind is a peanut butter soup (or stew).

  • African food can be very strong tasting compared to what we are used to. I would search for "African recipes for kids" instead. I tasted African food as a kid and hated it. Love it as an adult. Plantains can be great because dried and salted they taste like potato chips. Disney even has a recipe from Durbin, South Africa on their site. Good luck!
