My 2 year old dd has been in daycare for a little over a month now and she's been doing pretty good she had a rough start but she's been adjusting well. Then all of a sudden the last couple daysshe has had these screaming fits at nap time she refuses to sleep and keeps the other children awake with her with her tantrums. its gotten to the point her teacher has sent her out with another teacher so that the other kids can nap. I'm not sure how to deal with this, she enjoys going and playing with the other kids and all the other activities she just throws a fit at nap time what do i do how do i habdle the situation when i can't be there, and I'm worried they will kick her out, can/will they do that???Answer Question

One thing that I've found that really soothes stressed out children at nap time is to to buy a children's "Walkman" with earphones. Buy their favorite Cd's with stories and music that will relax them. If you really want to be creative, and you have the equipment and know how, is to make your own Cds of their favorite stories and lullabies read and sung by you. When nap time comes, just have her lay on her cot with the Walkman underneath and put the earphones on and turn it on. Get a nice soft cushy blanket and pillow and her favorite toy. Whether she goes to sleep or not, she will quietly relax to the soothing story or music. This will give both your child and the whole class a chance to rest, and her teacher a chance to regroup for afternoon activities, bringing a lot less stress into the whole classroom.
