  • Ramen, hot dogs, bread, jelly, peanut butter, here we get these $1 pizza's that go in the oven, enough for 1 person to eat or 2 kids, koolaid, and fruit, a bag of cereal and that would probably be it.

  • Do you have anything in the house? You could look at what you have and what more you would need to make a meal. I would get spaghetti sauce and noodles, that's $2 for a meal. Ramen is good. Bread, cheap lunch meat, with eggs you can make egg sandwiches or breakfast.

  • Farmhouse pastas ($1 each), frozen veggies (.89 each), ramen, eggs, cheese, tortillas.

  • I have been there many times. To add to what others said. Consider a bag of potatoes because you can do so much with them and they fill you up (bake, mash, fry, tators, scalloped, grill, ect). Whatever pasta is on sale..doesn't matter what kind plus plain cheap sauce. You can doctor it up with spices you already have. If ground hamburger meat is on sale you can add that but its not a necessity. Store brand cereal. Bread, milk, eggs. Next time also keep dry milk on hand. Comes in handly when you don't want to use your drinkable milk for cooking/banking. Canned veggies. Tuna. All of this can carry you thru for a good time.
Write it down and take the time to add up the prices as you go along so you dont end up at the check out line fretting! You can do it mama!

  • I had 10 dollars and brought my kids breakfast and dinner with it. The key is "99 cents" store. If not, you can even get some cereal for 2 dollars, milk for 2 dollars, noodles, 1 dollar, meat for 4 dollars and spaghetti sauce for 2 dollars. There you have cereal for breakfast and spaghetti for dinner. For lunch you can grab some noodles. You should even have leftovers!
