What could this be on his tongue?

My son is 7 yrs. old and he has been complaining about his tongue hurting. At first I thought it was because he was some how chewing on his tongue but he says he isn't doing that.
I will try to describe it here goes...On the left side and on the tip of his tongue looks like a cigarette burn but with the fleshy color they are circular looking.

Do you know what this could be or have you gone through this before???
I just noticed this the other day and I will take him to the doctor soon. Thanks!

  • Aww, poor little guy! Sounds like a canker sore or an inflamed tastebud. I get those all the time and they are so painful. Hope he feels better soon!

  • Probably canker sores. I've been getting them for years, so has my brother. Google it and see what you think. The worst part is, there's nothing you can really do about it.
