My 6 year old is upset...

because her lil sister won't have the same last name as her...She has my last name and I had intended on giving this baby my Fiance's last name. When we get married I plan on hyphanated my name so my oldest daughter will still have the same last name as me. What do you guys think? Should i hyphanate the baby's name too...I don't want my 6 yr old to feel left out.

  • Both of my sons have my last name. I am married but use my maiden name.

  • i can see how that could make her feel left out. it certainly isn't the 1950's and no one looks down on mom's not having their kids' last names, or even women not having their husbands'. but it all comes down to what you are comfortable with.
