  • I definitely think some Christians are, it's quite understable, IMO, really. I think those who "fear" Atheists are afraid of people who completely challenge & undermine thier belief systems based merely on thier existence.

It reminds me of when I was in high school, I went to a notable single sex college prep school. I went through a period of time when I was skipping class & shirking my academic responsiblities. I had fellow classmates that were mad at me, simply based on the fact that I hadn't shown up to class or handed in assignments. These were girls that I had no effect on in any way what-so-ever, some who I didn't even know well, who would openly display anger, displeasure, or frustration with me. I believe they acted that way towards me because these girls, (many of them) had academia shoved down thier throats from young age, they were pressured & sometimes punished to keep up thier academic performance. • Why in the world would a Christian be afraid of an atheist?

  • I am a practicing catholic...Anytime I have met someone who does not believe in God or any higher power....I initially do not think much about it. Sometimes I wonder if there really is "nothing else" but it is nice to believe..and I choose to do that.......So are christians scared of Atheists?....I'm not....I am scared not to live my life not believing. I did recently hear a study found that people who believe in a higher power live longer than those who do not believe.....

  • I angered them because my behaviour threw out the window everything that had been instilled in them. They were angery that of my own volition I no longer ascribed to thier established "belief system". They were angery that they still felt pressure that I was then free of. I feel a similar thing takes place when Christians fear Athiests.
