Is your 3 year old kid manipulative to your ex???

My daughter only see's her real father every other weekend...during the week she never mention's him or ask's about him or even seem's like she cares. Honestly, I don't tell her but he's not a very good dad. He dosen't spend time with her & her brother when he has them they are usually with his mom (their grandma). However, when my daughter does see him, she bursts into tears, cry's hysterically, & say's, "I missed you so much daddy!", sob's a little more then says, "daddy will you take me to get ice cream." I'm just like WTH??? Is anyone else dealing with this with their child?? I think it's just her trying to get attention & get him to feel bad so he give's her whatever she wants...she's only 3 & 1/2.

  • It sounds like she might be. Eventhough my sons father and I are still married I know he can try to manipulate us too.

  • um.... yeah.... she knows how to twist her daddy around her finger.... it makes sense, she's testing out limits and how to manipulate the world around her. My kids see their dad 1 or 2 x's a year and you better believe that when mommy gets mad at them Ayla will start to cry and say I want daddy. (but daddy and I made a deal, he backs me up ... or else (LOL).

If you and dad are okay with each other I would let him know (out of ear shot) that she is practicing how to tie daddy around her finger.
