  • I waited until my son could talk a little, and when he showed signs that he knew what was happening 'down there'. My daughter is three this Oct, and I'm just starting to potty train her. She can say 'poo' and 'pee pee'. So I know when she needs to go. I wouldn't worry... Everything will just fall into place. You'll know, when they're ready.

  • Definately show them you on the loo... Get them used to it... Sounds horrid... But it helps. And leave a kids potty in their room, let them get used to it.... Even if they just play with it!

  • there are signs of readiness that your kid will start to show, some of which my 18 month old is just beginning to do (he mainly babbles and I can't understand what he is saying to me, but he can signal what he needs). The websites that I have found helpful for signs of readiness are http://www.pottyscotty.com and http://www.pull-ups.com. Hope this helps :-)
