Why does the media do this?

Everytime they interview somebody from the general public, they always find the strangest people.
Like if they interview somebody from ND, regarding the flood situation it's some "rednecky" outdoorsman with a thick northern accent.( I live in ND and I've never run into these people)
Or if they interview somebody from Alabama it's some guy missing a few too many teeth with a significant accent.
Just wondering....

  • Probably because they seem the most eager to get on camera.

  • LOL! I agree. I'm from Minnesota, they always find some character straight out of "Fargo" (the movie) to interview. Who wears feed hats anymore? lol
