Why do babies shake there head back and fourth

My 9 month old little girl does this allot for about 2 months now she does it.

  • Like ya will be holding her or she will be playing sitting up n all of a suddent she will shake her head from left to right or right to left. sometimes she smiles when she does it sometimes she doesnt

  • I guess it could be a comfort thing. But, If she is still doing this by her next check up, mention it to her doctor.

  • in my opinion its probably cause it feels different, something new kinda thing. when she does it she probably gets a little dizzy and thats a new feeling for her, i assume.

  • mine has done this since she was 5 months old she turned 9 mo on teh 14th i asked at the 6 mo check up and she did it doc said it feels good to her. asked at 9 month same thing, its just something they like to do. doc said as long as afterward they are playing and smiling no worries.

  • im not sure if this is what your LO is doing, but my 6mo shakes her head and wiggles her upper body- she's done it for about 2 months now.. its her way of dancing haha.. she does it when we play music or if she's just being silly.. its cute :)
