  • My best friend used to date one. They had some pretty interesting discussions about things like what day you should go to church, etc. He believed in the essentials of Christianity, but some other things were a little more legalistic.

I personally don't know much about it other than what I heard from her. For some reason I thought they were vegetarians too??? Is that right???

  • I don't really have any idea if they are vegetarians it didn't say anything like that on the website I looked at but it didn't really give much except the very basics so I don't know

  • From just knowing a friend that is Seventh Day Adventist she and her whole family are vegetarians. From what she told me it had something to do with keeping her body as pure as can be.

  • We believe in keeping our bodies as pure and healthy as possible. We also put more emphasis on disease prevention than treatment.
I eat a kosher diet--- no pork, shellfish, blood, animal fat, ect. A lot of SDAs are vegans because it's easier to abstain from meat that to find a kosher butcher.

  • LexyLex, that is the same way for a lot of Orthodox Jews who live in areas outside of cities with lots of other Jews. It is easier to be vegetarian than to keep Kosher when you can't find everything you need.

  • SDA's have no teachings whatsoever about head coverings. Pants, including jeans can be worn when wished, although as with all clothing, modesty is desired. (No camel-nose, thong-showing, low-riders, please)

  • I'm not Adventist, but am a 7th Day Christian. There are many different churches that are Sabbatarian and many varying beliefs/practices on the topics you mentioned :-)
