How do I get the smell of urine out of the couch?

  • My dad was a chemist, and he recommend wiping the area with vinegar or even just setting a dish of vinegar near the area. Of course I'd test the vinegar some place it wouldn't show just to make sure it wouldn't hurt the fabric. The vinegar evaporating combines with the ammonia from the urine which neutralizes the smell. It also works with cat accidents.

  • There are some pet products on the market for carpets that also do the trick but I can't think of the brand off hand.

  • you might be able to steam clean it.

    that sounds like a lot of work to me though.. i'd probably just throw it in the back of the truck.. drive to the dump.. then stop by the furniture store on my way
