What did you buy your recent 1 yr old for their first bday??

I got my son a few things. But not any big cool toys, I don't even know what to get! Everything seems so baby-ish and he is TIRED of all his "12mts" toys he has already, won't even look at them...

  • Honestly, We bought him 1 toy - but we had a big B-day party for him with our whole family so we didn't feel bad.

  • She got clothes, a blanket (made by my sister), a painting of herself (painted by my best friend), and we got her a big toy and I think one or 2 little toys.

thats the big toy we got her =] She loves it.

  • Katana got some musical things. She loves music. Also, some learning things she could use, and clothes. What does your baby show an interest in? Music? Books? Coloring? Just look for what would interest or excite your baby.

  • She got a Big birthday at the zoo. All guests paid for by us. So we got her a little $10 baby doll for the bath. she made out really good people getting free admission to the zoo really fork over awesome gifts. It's all stuff she can play with for a while too.

  • A drum. (Not a set, a little toy bongo drum). But I wouldn't go overboard... over the next years you'll accumulate too many toys anyway, and at that age a pot and wooden spoon is still just as good. Save your money!

  • We got my DD a baby doll that cries and closes her eyes. We had a big party with decorations and balloons, which I think she liked more than the gifts. Keep it simple.
