  • Rice Cereal mixed with breast milk (or formula).

  • Depends on the baby. At 4 months old, he might not be ready. If he is, then stage 1 or rice cereal. We waited until 6 months to introduce solids. That was the earliest my DD started showing signs of readiness.

  • I started giving my DD taste of foods when she was a little less than 3 months. She started showing an interest in it, so she got a "bite" now and then of things we were eating. Now at 4 months, we have started her on steamed mashed vegetables. She loves them! We give them too her each day one time a day. We do each one for 4 days straight before we move on to the next! She tries to use the spoon herself alot, so we get alot of messes! Its cute but well worth it. And she still gets her regular breastfeedings when she is ready! When they start staring at your food, and showing an interest, you can start them on baby foods. HTH.

  • At 4 months? I'd say none at all.

  • my son is just now 3 months and he is already eating rice cereal with formula and a lil bit of apple juice for flavor. he loves it. Although they say not to til they are 4-6 months, I say if it doesn't bother them, you should be okay with whatever. Just take into consideration it needs to be soft foods, for the lil mouth with no teeth :)
