How old was your kid when you took him/her to the dentist for the first time?

Or at what age do you plan to take your kid for the first time?

WIC class said you should take your kid to their first dentist visit at 1 year old..just curious to know if anyone has waited longer?

  • I started taking my son with me when I got my teeth cleaned when he was 14 months. The dental hygenist was wonderful and she would explain to him what she was doing. She even let him put on gloves. This way he wasn't afraid when he went around 24 months.

  • I was told at 2 years old. I think 1 is a bit young, they have like one tooth. My son is closer to having a full mouth now just missing his back ones. Once his are all in I plan to take him in. I brush his now and have fun with that

  • My son chipped his tooth on a toy when he was 6-7 months so I took him to get it checked out and the dentist office thought I was crazy. Other than that I wouldn't have taken him in.
