How long after having a baby can you go swimming?

how long after are you able and how long after do you think a typical woman would even want to go swimming??

  • 6 weeks whether its a vaginal borh or a c section. same with a bath, sex, tampons, etc

  • I had my boys in July and couldn't wait to go swimming again. My midwife said it was fine as soon as bleeding had stopped. Before the bleeding stops there is an infection risk.

  • You should prob. wait 6 weeks b/c you aren't suppose to wear tampons before then if you have a vaginal birth and you shouldn't get in a pool if you are still bleeding.

  • aftger you are done bleeding, before that and you can get a infection.

  • I would say not until you are able to take baths again. I think 6 weeks is recommended.
