twins

when are twins usually diagnossed in a pregnancy? is it possible that it can be missed at the first vaginal ultrasound?

  • I believe so. My friend did'nt find out she was having twins until she was almost 2 months.

  • mmm depends, sometimes yes, but in rare cases one may be hiding behind the other. If they got more than one angle then more than likely there is only one

  • the first ultra sound is pretty accurate. In very very rare cases one is hiding behind the other and their heartbeats are in sync. But this is not common at all, especially with how updated the u/s machines are these days.

  • when you go for your 1st ultra sound early in preg they should find out. I found out by they checked the heart beat said oh... got the ultra sound mech. and said "OH" and left got the doc i thought something was wrong and the doc checked and said count...
    when your that small/early in the preg its kinda hard for 1 twin to hide behind the other cuz they are so small. I wish you well.

  • i was just curious cuz a friend on mine said she just found out she was haveing twins but she is like 13 weeks and i thought that was a little odd. she claimed that she had her first appoint. when she was only 6 weeks so its easy to miss it that early. but i wasnt sure. thanks for the feedback.
