  • It's not really a plug holding your baby in. This means your cervix has started to dialate. Which can start to happen many weeks before your baby is born. The mucus plug will keep regenerating itself so expect a mucusy discharge from time to time.

Definitely talk to your doctor about it, but don't panic. I've always started to dilate and lost the plug early on in the third trimester and carried all my babies to term.

  • I hope you didn't lose it that early. Think of it as the plug holding the baby in. Once that goes labor usually follows within a couple weeks. Maybe you should consult your doc. He might put you on bed rest to stop that from happening
